Manang Trekking

Manang Trekking (3540m) is one of the largest villages in Manang district. From Manang route starts to Thorung La (Pass) at the 5415 meters above the sea level. This region is one of the last trekking stops for trekkers walking the famous Annapurna circuit trekking.From the Thorung La (Pass) of sea level connect the Manang district to Mustang district by providing a route between the town of Manang and the village. A basic stop on Annapurna <span class=Manang Trekking ircuit,Manang has much to offer the intrepid,adventurer,climbers,the cultural and religious visitors. The Nepal Government has opened a number of new peaks in Manang and new destinations like Nar and Phu , the northern outposts of the district border. Tibet are added attraction. The Manang 2004 campaign hopes to bring back to consciousness traditional festival like Badhe in Manang region.This festival is celebrated in every three years,Badhe hadnot been celebrated for the past decade owing to an influx of the local population to city and a lack of economic resources in the village. But most essential, local villagers have expressed a keen interest to promote sustainable tourism and are working with the Annapurna Conservation Area Project ( ACAP ) to view that to give bodily form.Manangi people with support from the late King Mahendra,have became auspicious traders,hotelier and businessmaen.Many have move down from harsh and beautiful valleyin north Nepal down to Kathmandu.
Manangi people, who live in six villages of upper Manang valley in northern Nepal, call themselves Nyeshang.According to local sources, a long time ago, invader who come over the southern mountains harassed the people of the northern valley. A lama through some device made it impossible for the invader to cross the high mountain passes. At the same time, the people of the northern valley were unable to get out. Nowadays upper Manang is also referred to the Nyeshang valley. Researchers are also indicated that there was a place known as “ Shang “ in Tibet a long time ago.
